Oi! (June 13th)

Hello everyone! This is quite the mass email. We haven't been able to log on to facebook, so this will be our method of contact for now. So....we're here, in Governador Valadares that is. We're at the mall watching 'Germany vs Australia' and apparently 'Schweinsteiger' has the ball. That means nothing to me. We're staying in Tiago's parents apartment which is enormous and has a beautiful view of the city and Mt. Ibituruna. This is total luxury as far as I'm concerned. Oh, Schweinsteiger doesn't have the ball anymore I guess. The score is 3-0 Germany. Scratch that, 4-0. The weather is awesome, the country is beautiful, the food is delicious and we are both very happy. We're still sort of 'settling in' right now, but we're planning to go on a few 'mini adventures' pretty soon. For starters, we're going to try to tackle that mountain, which will give us a good idea of how difficult the rest of our travels will be. Also, since we both signed up with WWOOF, we are going to try out one of the closer farms in Minas Gerias. I'm learning more and more Portuguese every day. It's very helpful that we have Tiago's family to practice it with. I'm completely surrounded by 'futebol'. It's everywhere, in every single corner of this country, there's no escape..soon I will be one of them.

Welp, I will write again sometime soon. And I promise to write some personal emails the next time we get WIFI. I hope all is well back in the states (or India and Sweden). take care, and stay cool.
